Goalkeeper Summer Camps

Our USF Goalkeeper Camps have been developed and are overseen by University of South Florida's Women's Soccer Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach Juan De Brigard. Coach De Brigard brings a vast amount of experience in goalkeeping. Coach De Brigard is a highly-regarded expert in physical training, and has over 30 years of coaching experience recognized for providing groundbreaking levels of coaching and strategies to enhance individual and team play.


Below is a summary of Coach De Brigard's experience and achievements:

Juan De Brigard

  • University Of South Florida, Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach 2010 - Current
  • Fussball - Lehrer (Soccer Teacher) and is therefore qualified to coach any professional soccer team in the world.
  • In 25 years of international coaching experience, Coach De Brigard has been recognized for his versatile involvement in different areas of soccer. He has successfully trained many young players towards reaching their goals of obtaining professional soccer careers. He has been a head coach and a physical trainer at the highest level in Colombian soccer.
  • In 2008, De Brigard created non-profit organization that teaches football at no cost in elementary schools of low income areas in Tampa. More than 1200 children have benefited from the program.
  • De Brigard obtained his B.S. in Physical Education from the world famous German Sport University in Cologne. 
  • He later completed his soccer education by acquiring his professional soccer coaching license of the German Soccer Federation.

Coach De Brigard's philosophy is to provide the most valuable experience possible using instruction and positive reinforcement in match related games and situations. His objective is to teach young goalkeepers of America to be efficient in the four pillars of goalkeeping (Technical, Tactical, Mental, & Physical). At the same time, goalkeepers will experience a high level of competition and training driven by a professional staff comprised of Goalkeepers and Coaches from the University of South Florida Women's Soccer program, other Top College Coaches and Goalkeepers, and US Soccer.

 

Goalkeepers will follow the main schedule outlined on our website, and attend goalkeeper training in the mornings. At our US College Soccer ID Camp's Southeast Elite ID Camp, on Monday and Tuesday mornings, the last 40 minutes of the goalkeeper training, will consist of a showcase session where college coaches in attendance at the camp will come to observe them. The goalkeepers will also be watched by the college coaches in the evening showcase games.
